Publication & Research Policy

Biology Circle organization is determined to promote the best practices of academic area and follow the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Cope of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Core ethical values for publishing activities include:

  • Originality: Authors must declare that the manuscript is written by them and the work has not been published previously and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If the work and/or words of others are included, they must be appropriately quoted/ cited.
  • Authorship and contributions:The authors must meet the criteria for authorship with substantial contributions in the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to make a statement about contributions to their work.
  • Data access and citation: Corresponding author(s) may be requested by editorial office to provide the raw data relevant to the paper for editorial review.
  • Acknowledgment: The authors should acknowledge any work/support in manuscript provided by other individuals/organizations.
  • Declaration: The submissions must include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest.
  • Authors’ Responsibility: Authors are responsible for all aspects of the submitted work including full data access, data integrity, and the accuracy of the data analysis.

Human & Animal Rights

For research involving humans, a statement of compliance is required to show that procedures were followed in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional, national and/or international). Informed consent is a mandatory part of research involving human cohorts. Authors should also state that the study conformed to provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki (as revised in Edinburgh 2000), available at: Declaration of Helsinki. For research involving animals, authors are asked to indicate whether the institutional, national and/or international guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed. In such cases, mentioning the relevant approval numbers of the forum is required.

Malpractice in Publication

Editorial office strictly does not accept any malpractice in any format of publication either pre- or post-publication. Any such practices, if found, will be investigated by the Editorial Office for appropriate action as per COPE guidelines.

Copyrights

Authors publishing manuscripts with Biology Circle journals should agree to transfer copyright to the journal and will grant journal’s right to publication under CC-BY 4.0 license. Authors are strongly encouraged to distribute the published work at their personal levels including social media pages, academic websites and institutional repositories etc.
